Johnny most recently finished playing the role of Che in "EVITA"; this had always been a dream role for him and he was delighted with the reviews the production received.
Other recent performances include playing the role of Pontius Pilate in “Jesus Christ Superstar” at the King’s Theatre Glasgow as well having ventured into the 80s appearing as Nick Hurley in the stage version of “Flashdance”.
It has been a varied few years in Johnny’s performance life having gone back to high school playing one of the T-Birds in "Grease", the aged eccentric company president J.B. Biggley in "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying", having to get in touch with his inner muppet playing Nicky in “Avenue Q” after portraying the dual roles of Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde in the musical production of “Jekyll and Hyde” in Edinburgh.
In 2014 he also took on the role of the villainous Fernand in the dark re imagined rock opera version of "The Count of Monte Cristo".
Johnny debuted in 2004 with Scottish touring theatre company Phurious Productions, playing Peter Van Daan in "The Diary of Anne Frank" and over the last ten years he has gone on to work in various feature length and short films for the RCS, Palm Tree Productions and Gate films, several of which were screened at the Cannes Film Festival.
He has also appeared in national television adverts for STV Bingo, Tunnocks Caramel Wafers and Prontoport.

In terms of original Scottish theatre, Johnny played the lead role of Tam in a new production "The Temptations of Tam" at the Citizens Theatre and devised in collaboration with the Scottish Opera and Citizens Company as well as creating the role of Macintosh in Drew Campbell’s tense two-hander “The Doppler Effect”.
Johnny recently began working with the new Scottish theatre company Sonic Boom on their murder mystery nights at the Ayr Gaiety Theatre.
He appeared as Hercules Morse in the national theatre tour of "The Hairy Maclary and Friends" show and in 2012, Johnny had the honour of playing the role of The Phantom for a one night tribute to the
music of "Phantom of the Opera" and "Love Never Dies" at the prestigious Kelvingrove Art Gallery as part of a Masquerade Charity Ball for Enable Scotland.
Johnny enjoys gigging regularly with popular Scottish bands The Jack Dames, The Capitals, The Regals and most recently the "Could It Be Take That" tribute band.
In 2015, Johnny will be performing as part of the "Mad 4 Musicals" cabaret act in various theatres around the country and can be seeing playing the role of Emmett Forrest in "Legally Blonde" the musical at the King's Theatre this Autumn.
